Buttery Brook Park is a wonderful natural resource nestled in the old Buttery Brook watershed. Pack your lawn chairs and bring family and friends to enjoy the park’s natural beauty and an eclectic mix of entertainment for all ages. Reasonably priced refreshments are available on Friday evenings at our Cruise nights, including hamburgers, hot dogs, snacks, beverages, homemade desserts, and other goodies. Proceeds from food sales help to support park improvements.

Thursday through Sunday
December 8-11, 2011 and December 15-18, 2011, from 5:30–7:30 p.m.
All activities are free of charge. Photos with Santa are $5.

An annual tradition.. With the park dressed up with lights and displays, the whole family will enjoy a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, hot chocolate and cookies! Have a photo taken or take your own while your child visits with Santa (many people do both), then take a ride on Santa's train through our enchanted holiday wonderland! Stop in and say hi to the animals, too!

2011 SEASON, park is open for general use April-November, 8:30am to dusk
Two covered pavilions for picnics and other functions are available for rental on weekends from May 28-September 11 between 8:30am-7:30pm. The Log Cabin (located by the playground and accomodates up to 30 guests) may be rented any day between 9:00am-7:30pm--great for birthday parties! CRUISE NIGHTS, every Friday, May 27 through September 9, 2011 (5:30pm to dusk)
Please plan to come--enjoy the vintage cars, and plan on having supper to help support park improvements.

CHILDREN'S SERIES, Wednesdays, July 13-27, 2011 (10-11am)
Free entertainment and activities for children 10 and under.
(In the event of inclement weather, concerts are moved indoors to the auditorium at South Hadley Town Hall, 116 Main Street.)

The new playscape area at the center of the park began taking shape in 2008 thanks in part to fundraising activities by the Friends of Buttery Brook Park and many generous individual and business contributions. As of Spring 2010 the new playground featured two new playscapes, additional preschool equipment, and a large sandbox with excavators. Future improvements will include park benches, a playscape expansion for 5-12-year olds, new swing sets, and new a new green space adjacent to the playground. A volleyball area has been developed at the back of the park, taking the place of the old 'tot lot.'

Friday evening 'Cruise Nights' help to fund these expansions. You can help by volunteering to work on the food concession (whatever time you can give will be most appreciated)--or just by stopping in on Friday nights for supper. Donations to the Town of South Hadley Gift Account in support of the playscape are gratefully accepted at any time and may be forwarded in care of the Friends at the address below.
